Born in a Chicago suburb, Melinda spent her early years traveling the world as an Air Force brat, moving from Illinois to the Philippines to California. She grew up in a musical family, playing the piano, clarinet, violin, and found her passion in singing and acting. Her love of music kept her active in choirs, talent shows, theatre productions, and earned her a spot in the musical theatre program at New York University's renowned Tisch School of the Arts, and later, one of her favorite jobs - performing at Disneyland.

Soon after moving to NYC, Melinda was cast in Cameron Mackintosh's Tony Award winning musical, Miss Saigon. She has had the honor of playing the lead role of Kim with the 1st and 2nd US National Tours, in Stuttgart, Germany, and on the coveted Broadway stage in New York City - a dream come true. Melinda returned home to Chicagoland to play Kim in the Jeff nominated production of Miss Saigon at the Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, and then went on to reprise her role at The Regent on Broadway Theatre in Palmerston North, New Zealand, with Theatre Under the Stars in Houston, Texas, and at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she won the Barrymore Award for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Musical.

She loves voice acting as well, and has voiced various projects for EEC International, Freschetta, Kohler, and Kmart.

Melinda is also a maker, passionate about creating handmade arts and crafts. She owns Yarn Thread Love, where she loves knitting, crocheting, sewing, doodling, lettering, and making unique gifts by hand.
